What Were the Colors in Your Week?
Here's mine! I drew the colors for my poems from a variety of moments in my life this week.

What's better than kids and a parachute?

First up-
Jungle Green
I took my grandson to a music class at the library where we sang, danced with bubbles, and jumped under a lifting parachute. What fun for a grandma!
One of the songs that was sung was a familiar one to young moms..
"Galumph Went the Little Green Frog
I decided this was the perfect format for a parody poem about an outing with my daughter, who generously gave me a pedicure for my birthday. Walking into the salon and seeing the large wall of colors is always intimidating. The challenge I have is getting out of my comfort zone. I ALWAYS steer toward the peaches and reds. But then a sparkly green caught my eye, and I bravely said, "Why not?" And I was right. Those ten WICKED green toes have made me smile ever since.
Sing along to my poem if you'd like :)

Lemon Yellow
What a delightful surprise I had at Trader Joe's recently. Discovering there was such a thing as seedless lemons was a life-changer. But I am still confused as to how they grow them!

Forest Green
On days when the world feels like too much, I sit down with my paint-by-number, and it takes me away from it all. There's something meditative and healing about choosing a color #, then searching for each little numbered area and filling it in. I ordered my kits here. I highly recommend this site. I have enjoyed everything I have done. I'm working on this lake cottage now. It is fun to see it come to life with each color.

Happy Poetry Friday everyone. Please stop by this week's host, Tricia Stohr-Hunt at The Miss Rumphius Effect. Her poem about a dog and his confession based on the prompt- It was all my fault is hilarious. So clever. All dog owners will relate!
See you next week!

I love your smorgasbord of color poems! I too wonder when I see seedless watermelons. I have never seen a seedless lemon, so I'll have to look for it. Great use of rhyme in your lemon yellow poem.
A delightful, colorful post, as always, Cathy! Love the Wicked Green color, and I too am always baffled by seedless fruits. :)
